Now that it's nearly the end of March, Spring has sprung in the Northern Hemisphere of the world. I'm always excited for Spring because it means that warmer weather is upon us and life becomes colourful once again.

View full article →Recently, my son was learning about polyhedrons in school and he had to construct 3D models of them. He used toothpicks for the edges and little marshmallows for the vertices.
He made a cube, tetrahedron, octahedron, square pyramid, icosahedron, cuboctahedron, and dodecahedon.

Molecular biology and biochemistry are closely related subjects that are quite research intensive. My undergraduate degree was in Molecular Biology and I had to take many lab courses in both subjects areas. Some of those lab techniques have inspired the designs in my collection.

View full article →For the longest time, I only had chemistry + maths designs in my shop. So, one of my goals in the last two years was to design more for my Biology Collection. After all, I had majored in Molecular Biology, worked in a microbiology research lab during my undergraduate years and carried out research in the field of medical mycology for my Masters thesis.
Now the Biology Collection is growing on me! And I will share it with you in a 3-Part Blog Series over the next three weeks:
